AfricaGems Layaway Program

AfricaGems.com is pleased to offer this innovative, NO INTEREST Lay-away program that makes it possible to buy the loose gemstone or jewelry item of your dreams. Loose Certified Diamonds, SHOP SPECIAL, and some certified gemstone items are NOT eligible for this program. The way the program works is very simple. This program is also customizable to suit your specific needs. Call or email to discuss!

How the Layaway program works
Any gemstone or jewelry item that is priced at $1,500 or more is eligible. Loose Diamonds are NOT eligible for this program. The standard program is for 6 months (maximum) but can be modified to suit your specific needs. A 15% initial deposit is required.
The balance is then equally divided into a maximum of 6 equal payments; payable every 30 days after the initial deposit is paid with NO INTEREST charged. The frequency of the payments can be customized. After the initial deposit is paid by credit card or check, you will receive six (6) already completed credit card charge slips for your signature or you will send us 6 post-dated checks. The subsequent charges are automatically billed at the date indicated on the charge slip, or the post-dated check is deposited on the due date. Once the last payment has been paid, we send your item to you.
*Cancelled layaway program items payments are not refundable, any money paid can be applied to other items with no penalty.
*Returned checks will incur a fee of $ 25.00.
*If sales tax applies, the total amount of sales tax must be charged and added to the initial deposit.

Here’s an example
You decide you can’t live without one of our top gem Cornflower Blue Sapphires priced at $ 5,000. The initial deposit is 15% or $ 750.00. The balance of the purchase price is $ 4,250. Every 30 days for 6 months after the initial deposit was made, your credit card will be charged $ 708.33 ($4,250 divided by 6).
*If sales tax applies, the total amount of sales tax must be charged and added to the deposit.

Program Features

• Not valid for eBay purchases.
• Not valid for international customers.
• Credit card must be valid for the duration of the charge periods.
• Cardholder's complete contact information will be confirmed and verified and gems can only be shipped to a confirmed address.
